Bootanimation help

I am new to the whole rooting thing. So, please be gentle. Any who, I am trying to create my own bootanimtation.zip but for whatever reason, I cannot get it work.

this is what i know: you have to have 1 or 2 folders depending on how many png files you have and a desc.txt file

the files have to be named:

part0
part1
desc.txt

the png's have to named boot_00001...in sequence and they have to be 5 #'s

But for whatever reason, after the boot up, i get a black screen.

Can someone please help me out with this? or guide me to the right place. Everything i have read is for other phones. nothing for the vibrant specifically.
