I think we should just give up this iphone killer thing.

Because technically speaking, since the launch of nexus one. Iphone was already murdered. Anything else that will have the same or better tech specs as the nexus one, will always be better than the iphone no doubt.

But socially, there can never be an "iphone killer" Never!

I hate the iphone, but this fact I have learned to accept now because if not, I will just die out of frustration.

Even when the time comes that all hand phones now have the feature to teleport you to another location by making a call, and Apple is still stuck with 3GS. In the publics mind, iphone is still  the "Best Phone"

Thanks to apple's capability to brainwash to all the dumb people on earth (which is 99%) to think that "anything apple, it the best"

So with this thought in mind, there will never ever be an Iphone Killer.

I'm just happy to know that I am not included in the 99% dumb people because I will get a Vibrant

(Even now I have an Omnia II which then was way better than iphone 3G)

That post is very true babyjosef. But there are some poeople out there who still think that the iPhone is best (sadly got trapped in the 99% of people). I am totally with you for feelings of Apple

To get this out of the way, I've never liked the iphone and I think that the Vibrant is one of the most compelling handsets to come down the pike. That said, your comparison may be a bit slanted. I mean you're comparing a new handset that hasn't been released yet with something that was released almost a year ago. If you want to make a real comparison, try the supposed specs for the net iphone that's supposed to be coming this summer. The screen gives me a bit of concern as it is rumored to be 1024x600 and everything else coming out is still the same old 800x480 that's been the standard for the past couple of years.

If you can get 640x480 into a 2.8" screen (like my current phone) then it shouldn't be a problem to get 1280x800 on a 4 - 5" screen.

I think that the problem with fighting the iphone is that every company out there is trying to match what it was, not better what it will be. Sad but true.

This has been a bit more rambling than I expected but I think it gets the point out there. Thoughts?

Yea, I totally agree with your post through and through.
I really didn't make this for sake of posting it on the forum, I have a cousin who defends the iPhone no matter what i could throw at him and this comparison was mostly for him, but i posted it mainly for fun. I was planning on doing one Like Vibrant vs HTC Evo of Droid i think would be a good battle.

And you are right, I think right now the only companies fighting to beat not just equal the iPhone is HTC, they are throwing out some great phones, I seems all the other comapnies are just aiming to throw Android on a Good not great phone and try to take over the iPhone. I think especially Motorola, they are making new phones, but don't really seem to be trying to take down the iPhone.

It would make sense that HTC is trying to beat Iphone as they are truly Rivals.

Samsung on the other hand, let us not forget that Apple and Samsung are Partners. If you did not know yet, now you know.

This will surely explain why samsung from the start, is looking more and more the same as the iphone looks and function.

But yes point taken, for us consumers its frustrating that no company, even if they had the resources, comes out with a phone that will truly blow away the iphone.

But remember, these are corporations. They will never reveal such product where everything we want is already there, that will be the end of them because no one will ever buy any of their succeeding products.

Since when is Samsung and Apple partners? That seems kinda odd being they are making Android phones and Google hates Apple and vice versa

I have never heard of Samsung and Apple being partners. Anyways most of the android phones have already blown away the iPhone. So the iPhone is already been killed by other androids, why wouldn't this android beat it.
The iPhone has many flaws like a lot of the apps are useless and it's calling sucks.

The android 2.1 on this phone is truly amazing. It looks so fun and interactive. The multiple screens and widgets is also really cool. Hehe. I don't think the iPhone has widgets does it.

Samsung is a supplier for apples phone. For the 1st gen iphone, they supply the GPU chip. For the later generations, from what I can remember, its the Memory chip, GPU chip, and the screen. Although it was not clear if it was the tft or the glass or whatever part of the screen.

And it is not just samsung, Majority of iphone parts came from a taiwanese supplier. Forgot the brand

You guys can Google it to get more info. Heck! That how I found out about it too.
