Just ordered mine last night.  Sitting here downloading and bookmarking root goodies, etc.  My first android phone but I'm a hardcore tech, so naturally I'm champing at the bit to get this bugger in my hands.  Checked the UPS tracking site and I have to wait till FRIDAY!!! ARRGH!

In my searching though, I haven't been able to find out if there is any active work on Cyanogen's part for a froyo mod.  Are there any other options out there to get a vanilla froyo rom for the vibrant?

I do, I"ve got it all tricked out now.  Running Nero from Team Whiskey, which really improved battery life.  I'm still learning, but I've already installed the Android SDK and am starting to dick around with some code.  I've got some experience with C#, and that was self taught, so I should be able to pick this up relatively quickly.  All in all, I have to say this baby's an iPwnd killer for sure.

Team Whiskey has now released Bionix-v and this rom is super fast and by far the best work they have put out so far! Check it out...

Awesome Drew!  Thanks, going to d/l that one now and nandroid my handset.  I'm assuming it's another froyo rom and not Gingerbread yet right?

**edit - going to the site and looking myself was probably a better solution than asking, lol.  For those that run across this, it is a froyo rom, but with some wicked looking overclock features (drooool)

Wow, finally got around to installing the new Bionix today.  Went from a Quadrant score on Nero of 950 or so to 1500.  The FPS stayed around 55 on Neocore, but that's still pretty damn good.  My friend at work has an EVO and he's only able to get about 27 to 30 FPS on neocore, even though he was crushing me on Quadrant.  I'm still trying to figure out what the Quadrant number translates to, it's kind of like the scores you get with 3DMark on a PC.  I've got this number, but what the hell does it relate to, lol!

If you install the DOW overclocking kernel you will hit over 2100 on the quadrant.
