This festive season is going to be a very special one for South Korean mobile handset maker Samsung, as it has heaps planned for itself in the coming months. First, Indian users are soon to experience Samsung’s Bada 2.0 powered handset, Wave 3.A company representative has confirmed the news that Samsung Wave 3 will be arriving this November at the Bada developer day in Bangalore.
Sporting a 4 inch Super AMOLED screen, Samsung Wave 3 comes equipped with a 1.4GHz processor and a 5-mega pixel camera with 720p HD video recording. The battery life of 1500mAh guarantees mobile users plenty of talk time allowing them to play and watch. The other stock features include Wi-Fi with Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, microSD card slot. But what’s interesting is that with Bada 2.0, fans can expect an array of new features such as seamless multi-tasking, NFC, voice recognition and Wi-Fi Direct. It also packs in the Emulator, Profiler and Performance Analyser; making the maximum use of memory and processing power. The device will also boast of Samsung’s own instant messaging service ‘Chat On’.
With so much happening and Samsung looking at India as one its most important markets, it is hardly surprising that the Korean company is also aiming to make India its export hub. The plan, basically, is to supply mobile phones to the Middle East and African countries soon from India. Exports from India, at present, constitute about 1-3 per cent of its manufacturing volume. However, Samsung is looking at increasing this to 10 per cent. "We are exporting to SAARC countries and about 1-3 per cent of our volumes (from India) are being exported. We are looking at making India an export hub and soon we will start exporting to geographies like Middle East and African countries," Samsung India Country Head (Mobile and IT Business) Ranjit Yadav said. "India is one of the top three markets for us (after the US and China)... Now we are also looking at making it an export hub," Yadav added.
