So, my phone freezes up all the time.
I have tried everything I can think of to help it. I have deleted mostly all my apps. I am getting really frustrated.
It freezes and all I can do to get it to turn off is to take the battery out and then it even freezes up when I turn it back on. It took an hour for my phone to turn completely back on today.

My phone is not rooted and has Froyo on it.
If any one has any suggestions, let me know. I haven't even had this phone for a whole year.

Also, does anyone else's battery become lower once its turned back on?

I would suggest flashing a custom Rom. They tend to run a lot smoother than the stock rom.

Okay. Well, my mom is making me call TMobile later. Apparently they have some "ideas" to help me. I highly doubt that. And if what they say doesn't work, they are supposed to check my warranty. They could just send me a new phone.
Rooting is looking more and more promising.

Thankfully I hadn't rooted my phone yet. They are ordering me a replacement phone because mine is defective. So, I will know within a few weeks if its the phone itself or not.

The problem is caused by the CPU. It is pushed to the max and may crash. If you download a CPU speed controller and set the phone to 80% of rated, the problem will cease. CPUs vary on the max rate they will tolerate, and Samsung is notorious for buying cheap CPUs and pushing them hard, in order to make their specs look better.
