I was just wondering if anyone else has the same issue. My phone has been turning off on its own for no apparent reason. it started 2 weeks after i got the phone and now it does it almost every time i charge the phone at night. I love the phone, but this is beginning to make me regret my purchase.

I would recommend doing some big time reading about Android phones all over the internet. Sites like Android central, Android and me, Engadget, just to name a few.  The more you read the better you can control your phone.

It sounds like you may need to turn some things off, your processor may be overwhelmed. If you are not using GPS, turn it off until you need it, etc.  Also, try an app killer, but be careful and do some research on them.  They can really help your phone run smoothly.

thanks, I'll look more into it. Yeah its running better now. I went through and uninstalled a bunch a crap that i got at the beginning but didn't really use, and it hasn't shut off since.

Mine turns off all by itself all the time. It is happening to a lot of people, and it is a known issue.
I miss so many calls and texts because of this. It sucks.
I have already been through 2 phones, and it happens on both. So im hoping it gets fixed soon.
Or im going to go get an (gulp) iphone 4

The problem is caused by the CPU. It is pushed to the max and may crash. If you download a CPU speed controller and set the phone to 80% of rated, the problem will cease. CPUs vary on the max rate they will tolerate, and Samsung is notorious for buying cheap CPUs and pushing them hard, in order to make their specs look better.
