If the Vibrant will be a huge success im pretty sure a lot of screen protectors will be released for it, question is would it be possible to make the screen protector in a way that i will NEVER reduce the sensitivity of the screen ?

If the screen were made with gorilla glass then ya the glass itself would also be the screen protector... those things are invincible... in fact I think we should start seeing them in smartphones in about a year or so.

I swear I had seen a smartphone with it on youtube before but I think it was just a demonstration product.

The Dell Streak (The smartphone formerly knows as the Mini 5) supposedly has a gorilla glass screen.

Well, we do know that Samsung is able to make the screen significantly thinner than a traditional AMOLED display with refinements to the manufacturing process. Namely, instead of laying the capacitive sensor film over the top of the screen, they integrate it directly into the display.

This will supposedly improve touchscreen accuracy. Because the display is so thin, it would make sense that Samsung would build it out of an extremely durable hardened glass.

The reviews I've read during my research haven't mentioned any kind of screen flexibility, so I'm hoping this is the case.

I heard that Boxwave screen protectors (crystal) r the best. But theres no one for Vibrant. So i sent the mail to them. Heres the answer:

''If you are interested specifically in our ClearTouch products, I will be happy to find out if we have a ClearTouch in stock that would fit the Samsung Vibrant device. If you could please send me the Height and Width dimensions (to the nearest 0.05 millimeters) of your device screen, that would be great. Please measure the full LCD screen area with digital measuring calipers or a dependable metal ruler. Try not to round the measurements up or down and I need them as accurate as possible in order to find the best fit.''

Anyone to help with dimensions?

Would u like, please, to help our galaxy S to get Boxwave's ClearTouch Crystal screen protector (It is the best!)? They would appreciate our suggestion since they develop their products based on the number of requests they receive for a particular model.

Your request for Boxwave's ClearTouch Crystal screen protector here:

http://www.boxwave.com/community/request/index.htm

Thanx!

From what I understand, not only is it shock-resilient, but also pretty well scratch proof. I value that in a phone screen.

Did anyone let T-Mobile put thier standard (I don't know what brand) screen protector on? I did and although the rep trapped some lint bubbles which look aweful, the non-smudge/fingerprint properties actually pixelate the image (I think). Since I've not seen the screen without the protector, I'm just assuming that they're hurting one of the main features of this phone.

I had Zagg for my blackberry and loved it except that it was somewhat noticeable on the display. Not bad for BB 8220 (flip) but not good if that is what I will get for the Vib. Has anyone installed Zagg or the standard TMO protectors and thought their image degraded?

I love the slim factor of the Vib and the durability/grip of Zagg but I really don't want to compromise picture quality. Anyone have any pictures of their skin installs? Maybe my install of Zagg was not good previously.

Any other favorite screen protector/case combos?

As it turns out, the screen for the Galaxy S phones is made of Gorilla Glass and shouldn't need a screen protector unless you're going to take a chisel to it. Just FYI.

I'm really glad to know, but where did you find this info?

Anyone find the ultimate screen protector yet? Smudge free, non-pixelating, anti-glare, corner-to-corner coverage, pre-cut, simply slap-it-on install, & bullet proof?

I'm tempted to just let my Vib go commando but this is so out of character for me. If I had to prioritize which features are most important, it would be

1) non-distorting image
2) corner-to-corner coverage (including nav buttons)
3) pre-fitted
