I just rooted my Vibrant a few days ago and installed Bionix V.  I also installed Scarlet Leftovers theme yesterday.  The 3G network was working fine , and I was able to zip around in the market and on the web.  Today the 3G icon is gone, and I can't get into the market or the web.  Is there a fix for this or do I have to uninstall the theme?  And how do i uninstall the theme if need be?  Hopefully I won't have to odin back to stock and start over.  Thanks.

I did that several times, including removing the battery a couple of times, also.  The 3G icon appears for a minute or two after I reboot, and then disappears.

Try flashing a different modem. Here is a great thread on XDA and how well they work with different ROMS.

OK...I am so embarrassed. I found the problem. It was "operator error." I had installed Green Battery Saver from the market at the advice of XDA to try to save a little battery juice. I thought I had unchecked the box that said cycle 3G as needed, but it was not unchecked when I went in today. So I just uninstalled it because it really didn't appear to be doing anything. The 3G has been on for many hours now without interruption. Sorry for taking up peoples' time in helping me solve the problem.
